Sign up NOW for the 1st Annual Tar River Festival BBQ Cook-Off! Whole Hog and/or Chicken entries accepted. Entry fee includes: Hog or Chicken, 20' x 25' reserved area, potable water, and power. BBQ HOG PRIZES: Grand Prize: Hand Forged Cleaver by ABS Master Bladesmith E. Scott McGhee ($450 value) and $300. Festival is October 7th, 2017, starting at 10:00 a.m. However, contestants can start cooking their BBQ at 1:00 p.m. on the afternoon of October 6th. Judging will begin at 10:00 a.m. on October 7th for Whole Hog, and at 11:00 a.m. for Chicken.
